The 7th  Pan-Armenian Summer games are over.

The 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games solemnly finished in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. Ishkhan Zakaryan, Chairman of the World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games, addressed the audience at the Closing Ceremony of the 20th Games, expressing gratitude to all state and non-governmental organizations, participants and referees, as well as journalists for their support to the Games.

“The Games have been a solid bridge between Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora”- Zakarian stressed.

Afterwards, RA Deputy Prime-Minister Tigran Avinyan was awarded the Order of Honor of the World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games.

Albert Boyajyan, one of the founding members of the Pan-Armenian Games, also adressed the audience with the farewell speech stressing that sport unites Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora. Boyajyan awarded Ishkhan Zakaryan with the Order of Honor on behalf of the Committee. The official closing of the Pan-Armenian Games was announced and the awards were presented to all the winners by the Prime Minister of RA, Nikol Pashinyan. “Miss Pan-Armenian Games” nomination was given to the Russian volleyball player Anna Tunyan. The best sports delegation was the Russian team, The Aleppo women’s basketball team received the “Fair Game” Award. The Dubai delegation became the revelation of the Pan-Armenian Games. The “Discipline and Sport Spirit” award will be taken by the Vienna team. For the first time in the history of the Pan-Armenian Games the delegations of Echmiadzin and Sydney were recognized as the best cities. After the award ceremony RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech:

 “During the 14 days of the Pan-Armenian Games we have had the pleasure of being together. We proved that we are united. The closing ceremony symbolizes that there is one capital for all Armenians worldwide – Yerevan. Regardless of political or party affiliation, we will always be united. The 8th games will be greater ”Pashinyan said. The Prime Minister congratulated and thanked all participants and organizers and declared the games closed. 5244 athletes from 161 cities of 35 countries participated in the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games this year. Several sports were held in Stepanakert, Martakert and Askeran, and the main rivalry was held in Yerevan. Three new countries are participating this year – the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and the Czech Republic.
